I never understood why she abadoned her style on MAYA. It was very ahead of its time and would still be a unique sound to this day.

No matter how many underwhelming things she puts out, ill always be interested in a new m.i.a. album

Surprised you just skipped over Puththi, easily one of the best flows on the album with the dopest production and not to mention she's singing in her native Tamil language on it.

You're right Tony. That bar "Brought to you by Pfizer" then she died of a heart attack does it makes it a 10/10.

Loved this album. Production is so raw, abrasive and fat. Maya is vocally doing what she does. I'm here for it.

I agree the production is the big selling point, but I don't think her vocals are as underwhelming as you're suggesting. Those screams on FIASOM are electrifying, especially against the rapped vocals she delivers, I love the swag that she brings to Zoo Girl and her singing on KTP is pretty good and a reminder of how versatile a performer she is

Really happy all the comments generally agree this a much better album than Tony is leading us to believe. Solid album, fantastic songs. You slowly begin appreciating it the more you listen.

M.I.A.'s song BORN FREE, was just in the opening credits of the movie, Triangle of Sadness this year. Was pretty surprised when that showed up.

There was supposed to be a Juice WRLD feature on the song Tribe, said song was on her tracklist reveal but not on the final album. She even tagged him on her Instagram post for the album

She’s 47 years old… that’s fucking crazy! She looks 20.

So sad she decided to go down her recent conspiracy rabbit hole :/ as a big fan I really wanted this album to be the start of her comeback arc

I’m glad that she’s switching her style up, just wish she it came out better. Still holding out hope that the next album is good and doesn’t take a million years to drop. Also holding out hope that she comes back to reality land with the conspiracy stuff

MIA being anti vax is one of the best/worst recent character arcs

Lil Uzi gave her the reference track for Marigold. You can still here him mixed in the background of the song.

No wonder she was clout chasing. She had an album rollout

How can one be so dense to not realize how ironic and tongue in cheek Popular is?
This is one of the best and most forward thinking albums of the year, if it was released by a male rapper fantano and his fan boys would herald it as the second coming of christ. He gives basic ass rappers who rap about pussy all the time great scores but always has to come for m.i.a.'s lyrics when she is the one bringing world politics and spirituality to the table lyrically.
FIASOM, Puththi, Beep, Zoo Girl, Time Traveller, Marigold are all some of the best songs of the year.
