As a person whose been on one of these Amtrak trains overnight, you have to do it at least once in your life. Absolutely magical. Woke up watching snowfall on a frozen river valley filled with frosted evergreens. Then went to the galley car and had breakfast w that view.

Must admit I took an Amtrak train with sleeper across country and it was a lot of fun. You really get to appreciate the landscape of parts of the country that you would never see otherwise. Would recommend doing it once

I’m from UK. I took the Amtrak from L.A to Chicago then Chicago to NY. Missed out on a sleeper, slept maybe 4hrs total in my seat, in the bar n restaurant most of the time, best trip I’ve ever been on, great company, glad I never slept away my time on it 😊

I traveled by Amtrak Auto Train a couple of years ago. Your car goes on the train, too, and had my own private room. Wonderful! My favorite way to travel.

I was in one of these every weekend for 7 years straight lmao dc to New York for free my dad was a conductor for Amtrak & I loved every minute of it the sweet black lady in the kitchen loved me to death and I’ll never forget her 🥲❤️

I did this trip from San Francisco to Boston for $700. I'm a professional cook and the food is actually SO GOOD I was shocked. My shower was a floor below me. You can have it delivered to your roomette instead of the dining car..you have a gorgeous view..ppl from all over come thru the Observation Car.. it's definitely worth doing once in your life 🎉
