Nail Care Routine | How to make natural nails look good

Hiya! I'm back with another video (I know, it's been ages!) and this time I wanted to share how I maintain my natural nails without going to the nail salon. Sometimes low-maintenance, classic, clean nails are the best way to go especially for busy times of the year. I've been following these 4 steps to keep my little nubs looking classy, even without nail polish. I'm so excited to share some new tricks for the best at-home short nail manicure. Hope you enjoy :)

I don’t know if she’s a trained nail technician but what she’s cutting is not the cuticle it’s living skin called the proximal nail fold and should not be cut. The cuticle is the dead skin under the living skin that’s stuck to the nail bed. Also, filing in one direction isn’t necessary. My Amma uses that scrub. Here is what you need: 1/2 a cup of sugar, 1 to 2 tbsp of olive oil and 14 drops of your fave essential oil (lavender is recommended). Mix and scrub into your hands and cuticles and nails and under-nails and palms for about a minute or two and rinse. Your welcome and love you all.

❤ Nice video. One small tip I will add. There is a simple nice product called Blue Cross cuticle softener. Get a small bottle and add a drop to each nail to soften the cuticle area. Let it sit for a bit then push cuticle back. You will find the area (cuticle) that attached to the nail plate will soften so you can gently remove it & push back the nail fold a bit easier. Olive oil is great as it calcifies the nail and over time strengthens the nails.

This may sound ridiculous but I'd love to see a video on proper nail cutting routine & care. Every time I cut my nails they end up in all sorts of weird shapes. I can't cut straight & i don't own or know how to use a nail file.

Any tips for the absolute basics would be so helpful.

Just came across your page and we definitely go for the same vibe with our nails ✨ I am normally a gel girly but since doing them on my own, I notice they start to lift at the free edge even though I seal them and it’s making me interested in trying out dip. What are the pros and cons for dip? 😌💅🏼

Filing back and forth is fine as long as you buff afterwards. Also you’re cutting living skin not cuticle. Cuticle is stuck to you nails.
