I'm 18 with rosacea and I was really scared to see dermatologist but this really helped

This was such a helpful video. It led me to question my breakouts and go to a derm. Lo and behold, I had Papulopustular rosacea this whole time. I feel so much better knowing what the heck is causing these breakouts so that I can try to effectively treat it. Thank you!

I don't usually comment but felt compelled to because how irritated my eyes were and if this can help anyone. I had ocular rosacea and rosacea papules. My eyes were so itchy with white dry skin on eyelashes. I think I had over production of demodex mites on my face.
The dr prescribed me to use baby Johnston shampoo to wash me eyelashes and a warm wet damp cloth over my eyes for 20 minutes. It didn't work. However, oxycycline antibiotics helped with my face rosacea papules.
The only thing that worked on my ocular rosacea was a soap that had sea buckthorns in it called FaceDoctor soap. I had instant relief. It is an amazing product. You wet your face then lather up soap on clean hands and rub the soapy substance onto eyelashes (keep your eyes closed). leave for a minute then wash it off with warm water.

I've been using DermalMD Rosacea Serum for a few weeks now, and I'm really starting to see a difference. My skin is less red and inflamed, and I'm not getting as many flare-ups.

Hi! What were the sulfur based cleaners that you mentioned? The ones you don’t need an Rx for.

Thanks for this detail on how to treat rosacea. I have stepped up from the 0.025 tret to the 0.05 tret and am pleasantly surprised it hasn’t caused my rosacea to flare. After the tret I use a moisturizer that does not have hyaluronic acid - La Roche-Posay Toleraine Double Repair. I really thought I would have to avoid putting tretinoin on my cheeks but I haven’t. Twice a week I skip the tret and use a 10% glycolic acid serum followed by the same moisturizer.

Im in my 30s this started in my early 20s..

No one in my family has had this.

I was given Doxycycline it was working good but the headaches were really strong when I took it, i cut the dose in half just took one a day and I still had them. so I just stoped it completely.

I'm in my last year of grad school and my papulopustular rosacea has gotten terrible! I think its the busyness and stress, but could also be my diet. Just so annoying that its adding to my already long list of to-do's :'( But this video helps so much thank you!!!

Thanks for the great info and routines. I am waiting for my rosacea compound prescription to arrive from my dermatologist. Hope it helps. And I will incorporate a couple of your product suggestions!

I will have to say that using Dr. Jart's Cicapair green color-correcting cream works very well for me! If my face is red or flushed in any way, I can apply that cream and it will totally clear it up! It looks like the normal light beige color that I usually had before I started getting Rosacea! If you have this disease, you can no doubt thank your relatives for passing it on!!

I have used prescription permethrin on my nose and cheeks with no real results. My nose and round my nose are itchy. When you said you compound a cream using ivermectin... a light bulb went off! No one I have watched has done this. I have this morning used that (iv) on my nose and cheeks and the redness has slightly subsided. You have also greatly explained what rosacea is and that really helps! I am hopeful!!!!

Can you comment on the excel v laser for an in office rosacea treatment for lots of broken capillaries on the cheeks? I've only met with one Derm and that's what he uses. Thanks in advance!

Does periods cause a flare for type 2 rosacea? I always notice a flare during my ovulation. And will oral antibiotics bring complete remission with just minimal skin care ?

Hey doc looking forward to your response,
I was having very bad hairfall for the last few years, after lockdown it started and got worse resulting in bald patch, last year i consulted a doc she gave me medicines also minoxdil and it did helped me alott, but due to medicine I developed heat idk how but maybe that medicine reacted or something and i started facing heat, the heat in my body was so intense that whenever i used to scratch i was seeing scratches i still do but now its not that intense, last year it was so bad i lost my sleep, even slight heat was unbearable, and also than i do have acne prone oily and sensitive skin, but like 5 or 6 years back it cleared up, i do have a history of very severe acne,
Now when that dermatologist changed my medicine for hair i started to see the heat as mentined above and also this skin problem, red acne on my face with pus filled and it came back so bad, i used to feel heat on my face and itch, it only calmed down with cold water splashes on face, and the moment i established so many things, my acne came back the heat thing so many, i never went to the derm again but never knew the acne which im seeing is actually rosacea, few days back i went to a salon there she told me that i have rosacea but im still confused, can you tell me the cause of rosacea development by going through what i said....pls respose

All the products for my rosacea from the ordinary damaged my skin. I still can't moisturize, 1 drop of moisturizer and I break out. Is there anything I can use?
