The RAAF ADG course appears much more challenging than the USAF Security Forces Academy I attended. I had the honor to serve with the Australian Defence Forces (Army and Air Force) on deployments in the past. Great group of professionals and wonderful folks. God bless Australia!

For those who couldn't make it in Infantry, but think they're up there with the SASR. One ADGie tried convincing a SASR Tpr that some of their tactics were devised by the ADGs. This is the shit they get fed during IET haha!

I remember when there were only 500 views on this video. This is such a great job. Go for my assessment day on Monday. Im very excited about it all. Fingers crossed

Very good video, shows really how finely tuned our small army is, but very effective and dedicated individuals indeed.

@MetalMilitia565 No, join as Rifleman if you hope to join the SASR. ADG's are highly skilled specialists, but they do have less "field experience" than Infantrymen, due to their defensive nature.

there is only a 30% pass rate if u are on a relaxed course. i once was an ADG. my course started off with 52 people and in the first week 20 dropped off.. only 5 of us passed

@MANCHILD69able LAC stands for Leading Aircraftman. There is a common misconception that the word contains an 's' this is incorrect. The correct terminology is Aircraftman.

the infantry does all that and more with more speciality as well as spending more time in the feild

f88 is the aus steyr that we use, f89 is the minimi also known as the LSW

Yeah. the F88 is the base weapon that they use.. But ADG have more weapons that that to use. Ive been looking up on them, as i have my interview next week for this and Fire Fighter.
Just a suggestion, whatever position you are going for, it is best to read up on it, and also call up the recruit center to see if you can speak to someone already in an ADG unit and get some first hand info.
You can also go to RAAF website. =)
Wish me luck on my interview lads.

Cheers -

I am ringing up DFR tomorrow and changing my 1st preference to ADG...

At least I wont be waiting 18+ months for a rifleman position and the fact that its almost an identical job makes it even better I hear they treat you better in the

The USAF employs 30, 000+ Airfield Security personnel globally. Active front line military pers for the entire Aussie Def For is around 60, 000. No disrespect mate, old school 4 RNSWR Assault Pioneer. Air Def is where our front line will be, props to the ADGies.
