Hey Dallas,

I’m a diver also and I’ve found/returned a few phones. What I’ve found works best is using Siri to call some contacts for me, since you don’t need to unlock the phone or have the original SIM card for Siri to access the phones contacts. I’ll use simple terms like Call Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Husband. Eventually if those don’t work I will start to get more elaborate with the name guessing. Hope this helps you in the future!

What you do for people who have lost things in the water is so heartwarming!!! So, I notice you keep using the desiccant trick for the phones. There is an easier and more effective way. Try a cheap food dehydrator like the Elite Gourmet EFD319BNG. Set the temp at 110F and leave it in for a few days. The hot air flow dries everything out much quicker and you can use it for making jerky and banana chips when you're not drying phones out.

one thing, when it comes to drying phones out, PLEASE use silica gel packets. they are way more absorbent and don't get into places.
