Taiwan is neither independent nor a country. And it is not Chinese, either. Taiwan is a territory split from Japan in WWII, not from China. China has no legal claim to Taiwan.

The US first betrayed Taiwan, abetting and aiding Chinese imperialism by unloading its Chinese on JAPANESE Taiwan. However, on June 25, 1950, Kim Il-sung saved the day for Taiwan when he blundered into South Korea and prompted Truman to correct one of FDR’s epic blunders.

The US never betrayed Taiwan ever after. According to the TRA, all who deem themselves 🇹🇼Chinese ON Taiwan — and that means the whole population — are “the people ON Taiwan” (在台人民, TRA terminology) instead of “the people OF Taiwan” (台灣人民).

As long as the voting public ON Taiwan deems itself Chinese of the obsolete 🇹🇼persuasion, it will not enjoy the sovereignty of Taiwan, a US protectorate since April 28, 1952.

Taiwan is neither independent nor a country nor Chinese. Taiwan is a territory split from Japan waiting for its inhabitants to wake up from their own China nightmare and claim their UN Charter-ordained right of self-determination. While the island population procrastinates, the international status of the territory remains undetermined.
