It wasn’t nothing but a couple weeks were even maybe a month or two ago that they were reporting about Houston having some massive surplus due to inflation related expenses like property taxes and sales taxes just to name a few. So we were in a surplus, but yet they still want to raise taxes on us. I just want to know why. We are struggling out here like seriously

Putting more police on the streets won't necessarily decrease the crime rate when you have a judicial system that is soft on criminals. But stiffer penalties and no bail for heinous offences could help.

But police aren't mentioning how many people are wrongfully behind bars and the tax payers are paying to keep them there. And the DA helps them to make those kind of arrest bc convictions help her make money, not justice... The DA just gave almost half a million dollars to the women's shelter for domestic violence. But if she charged those women's abusers they wouldn't have to be hiding out in those shelters now would they. Several women recently died in our County due to domestic violence as well. they called the police who were powerless to do anything bc her office declined charges and now their dead

Not going to lie, the bike trails help a lot. Accidents are down on Old Galveston Rd since they put that trail in. Traffic goes smoother. If you're not from the Southeast side you will see that a lot of people don't own cars and ride bikes to get around. Those bike trails really made a difference. It's crazy how we spend tax dollars to fund, NRG Stadium, Minute Maid Park, Toyota Center and PNC Stadium. It seems like when republicans spend our tax dollars no one complains but once democrats do they want to shut down services.
