My mistake using retinol: Using it.
I think it’s really important to remember that Retinol is not not everyone. I used a low strength, doctor prescribed one years ago and it weathered my skin terribly. I was told, oh it’s normal, keep persisting, you’ll see results in 3 months. Sometimes if something is giving you bad results, it’s not going ti get better. It’s taken me 5 years to improve my skin again, and even then there’s some ageing that I can’t turn back.

A dermatologist recommended that eye cream be applied first, before retinol, like "goggles" to prevent the retinol from bleeding over to very sensitive skin and mucous membranes. I also slather on lip balm for that reason, then apply BHA, retinol, vitamin C, or anything else I want to ensure doesn't migrate over.

I looked at skin+me the other day and thought of you because I know you can’t get on with Tretinoin and they, unlike other companies start you on such a low dosage and go so steady maybe it’s worth checking it out x

Mad about skin what are thoughts on lip products that have retinol in it? Do you think they’re necessary?

So putting an oily serum over tretinoin is good, but ultimately makes it absorb too much and is too harsh?? Did you say 'slugging'? Didn't know if I was hearing correctly. I'm on the lowest dose, 0.01% and apply it every other day not every night. I put on an oily serum over it, Egyptian Magic ... is this not okay?
