This Day We Fight! - Megadeth

1st place by 200! This was one of the earlier songs that I did in this game because I thought I would have lots of problems with it (which I did). It took me probably 2 hours just to get 1 FC of this, and that was down maybe 400 from 1st place at the time. As I kept playing, I got very consistent; I was able to FC this song just about every run. This made it pretty easy to grind for more squeezes.

Originally I had lots of trouble with the solo part at 2:09. I actually tap all the way through that section, and I'm very consistent with it now. If I can give any advice for that section, be very conscious of the slower parts. I would frequently play those parts to early and would end up breaking combo. Once I got consistent with that, the reverse verse thing (2:27) became a real problem. I didn't really have any trouble with that part before, but once I was able to consistently combo up to that part I kept missing. That was a big mental block for a while, but things clicked, and I was able to consistently combo through that. Then it was GG.

Squeezing this song isn't too bad. The 1st and 2nd acts are 165 bpm 16th note double squeezes, so they're pretty easy as far as double squeezes go. You can even get reverse ticks on the 2nd act and still get two Orange notes in at the end. If you have slow ticks for that, you can get an extra 368 points, which is almost as much as getting an extra chord under SP, so it's pretty essential. You can get another 200 points on the 3rd act that I was never able to get. 4th act can be hard, but the 5th act is pretty easy.

anyway, pretty happy with this score.

Having replayed this on my Xbox 360, I can safely say this is the biggest bitch to play through in the main quest. I must've tried like 20 times just to get the stupid guitar charged, and I was only playing on hard!
