My dad was hard on me. I had to get up 4am work out and have breakfast ready every day. My sister might be up around 9 . If I wasn't going to school I was working for him.
At first it bothered me. I started to notice beneficial changes after a few months and started to like it. I feel like I'm always one step ahead of everyone.
Fast forward 20 years later. I own several businesses and my sister is a single mom with 4 kids and 2 baby daddy's. She lives in one of my apartments because she can't afford to rent. Most kids have to much time on their hands and have no discipline . I see kids 20 years old and can't change a tire. How far do you think they are going to go in life. I do the same thing with my kids now but we all get up and work out and take turns making breakfast. It's also the kids just to take care of the garden and the chickens. I don't think that will kill them.

This is all just a cycle. Todays kids will parent in one way. The next generation, the pendulum will swing back the other way, and so on. It's like a dance. Trying to stop or force the cycle in one way is part of what gives the pendulum its perpetual motion.

Parents dont have to be harder when raising their children. They just have to be there for them, understanding, taking care of them, teaching them whats right and whats wrong, learning together, and overall be good people in front of them
