I started my SS at 62 1/2, my wife who is 20 months younger than me started at 62. With my pension for working 25+ years we're doing just fine. That was over 3 years ago & we never looked back. Haven't touched our investments other than to travel. I had two brothers die of cancer 3 years apart. One died at 62 & never drew a dime of his SS. The other died at at 65 & drew 10 months. Let's be honest here, the reason the Government is offering you a bigger payday at 70 is because they're banking on you not making it!

Spreading your investments across different asset classes, such as stocks, bonds, and real estate, can help mitigate risk and ensure a more stable retirement portfolio.

Maybe we all should stop paying all insurance. They are one big rip off anyway.

I am 62 and my husband is 64 we have been struggling for the last 3 to 4 years. My husband and I have alot of health problems and we struggle to work and still can't afford to live. Everything has trippled and still going up. Our car is falling apart we could never afford a car payment and still be able to eat. Social security doesn't cover all our basic needs. We already have cut everything we can cut and still falling behind. Even with both of us getting part time jobs. This is a huge concern for anyone on social security and the government/Congress doesn't care.

Those of us who are retired and on social security realize it's happening. We are almost all severely struggling. It's horrible.

My friend has spent the last 30+ years taking care of disabled children in the foster system. She is now disabled due to all the lifting she did during those years Recently, her only daughter died. Her grandchildren need to come live with her but the place where she currently lives will not allow the children. So she has been looking for a place where she can bring her grands. They are asking more than her disability check! It’s crazy! And it makes me mad that she spent her life taking care of someone else’s children and now she has no way to take care of her own.

From paying for day care and college, to managing mortgage payments. I'm approaching retirement yet inflation is getting worse. How can I generate more income to retire with at least $3m for long term care? I have about $800k in savings.

Collecting SS and Mil retirement and hanging in there so far! If things get real bad like 100% more cost, I will be eating roots, grubs, and tree bark

My husband and I are retired but we still work! I spend every day preserving our foods, making fresh bread, growing a garden and he still works part time. That’s how we make ends meet.

That’s why I live with my sister! Lol their house is paid for, but, they still have property taxes and food, utilities and those are going up!! Don’t get me started on cars and gas and insurance. SSA suspended my benefits because of an overpayment and they screwed up my Medicare now I’m having to pay back Medicare payments. Like it’s not already hard enough.
