they have welded a non welding grade of stainless, and the bond around the weld is breaking down and the chromium is falling out of its bond with iron, leaving holes and a magnetic material behind...

when I did my post trade tig course, the teach showed us a patch panel made from non welding grade, that was welded into the correct grade material, the patch panel around the weld looked like it was dissolved by acid, full of holes and magnetic, but the stainless that it was welded to was untouched....I thought that was the coolest thing I had ever

I think you’re absolutely correct about the welding material being impure or not stainless steel. That’s a much more levelheaded assumption than the magnetic properties of the metal being permanently changed, but only on the areas where there are welds.

Why does it only work counterclockwise? The guy welded it on the wrong side and it did not work clockwise, but after they removed it and welded it on the other side it worked counterclockwise.

I thinks its transmuting the metal with an effect, if im wording that correct. Its seems to be creating a magnetic field and that can be controlled the by the frequency of the plasmoids when they collapse. What happens to the stainless steel if we use something other that water? Or tune the frequency?

It doesn’t seem to be the vacuum that changes the geometry in this failure. Unless you check the thickness of the metal to see if it’s stretched or compressed.
If it’s all a uniform thickness then wtf happened?

if your heating that sphere to red hot and then subjecting it to a huge pressure delta in side and out that could easily explain the "imploded" end.

as for the magnet being attracted to the area of implosion, if you weld stainless to hot or use the wrong filler material or heat a weld for a long period you are going to get ferro magnetism.
i.e. if stainless gets to hot it becomes ferro magnetic, stainless welders or joe cell enthusiasts will tell you this.

without knowing more information i don't think you can make the conclusion you are surmising.

The secret is.. Exhaust warmed water vapor improves the thermal efficiency of any heat engine.
Paul Pantone invented and patented a very similar device in 1998, Patent number 5794601.
Though it was well known that water cooling improves engine efficiency, hence radiator cooling etc.
