When a team base game tries to become less team oriented, it becomes overwatch 2

I hate that they completely killed my role

This was my biggest fear with going 5v5. The MOBA, Team and Strat are why I love Overwatch. It is what makes unique and not just another CSGO-Clone. It also sort of self-balanced the cheaters as you could out-team a hacker. You can't anymore.

Its almost like the game was designed around the idea of two tanks! Its an absolute crazy idea i know.

It also doesn't help that the balance team only caters to hitscan players

They need to move back into class identity, tanks can't tank for shit and do as much damage as DPS, supports are practically unkillable and also do as damage as a DPS, it's fucking crazy how bad this game has become in terms of class identity.

Blizzard forgot what made overwatch a success, and it's biting them in the ass.

Hear me out. We call it overwatch 3 and we make it 4v4. Then you get rid of role que.

I think the only reason why tank feels bad is the non flowchart decision making aspect. For example:
Tracer: go after supports
Widow: click heads
Mei: wall angles and ult track
Genji: flank or engage with team
Ana: anti if we’re pushing, save for heals if they’re pushing
Kiri: Suzu anti/half the ults. Deal damage and heal if below half
Illari: click heads. Heal if someone’s being focused
Zen: discord tank, deal damage
Bap: get into the rhythm. Lamp a focused tank or half the ults
Orisa: Hold space and don’t die. Glorified torb turret
Doom: Dive. Don’t dive. Ignore tank. Push tank into a bad position. Pressure their dps. Peel.
Rein: pressure tank, shield dps, push to create openings for dps, shield to hold space, be aggressive, don’t be aggressive
Sigma: pressure tank, shield dps, create openings for dps, hold space by dealing damage and a shield, play mid range

Edit: For medal rank players, I want you to answer these questions:
If a Tracer never flanks, is she doing her job?
If an Illari doesn't do damage, is she doing her job?
If a Doom never flanks, is he doing his job?

Now some explanation. They have a Hog Sombra Widow Bap Zen comp. Does that change your answer for #1? What about #2 or #3?
This is a horrible comp to flank, but Tracer still can. Dealing damage is scary cause of the Hog and Widow, but Illari should still look to do mid range poke damage. Doom probably shouldn't dive much unless he has ult cause of the cc and lamp. He'll have to addapt an entirely new playstyle based on the characters on the enemy team, but if he was with, say, a Genji and Lucio, he could dive again. Or if the Widow likes to play offangles, he can dive her.\

My point is that dps and Support have playstyles to fall back on and Tank doesn't (minus Orisa, Hog, and arguably Mauga). That leads to more game sense and general awareness needed to do the same things sometimes worse.

Remember back in Overwatch 1 when you could play Roadhog and legit never figured the enemy DPS was cheating

A year later and we still on this topic.... what's that? Why is there a number in my head? I can almost make it out.... 4... 5... no no, it's a 6. I wonder what that could mean...

"If someone's rage hacking we sit on him as two tanks, now we cant and we lose"
You can see what's the problem, right?
6v6 had it's issues, but they were fundamental overwatch issues.
5v5 created a shitton of issues on top of the fundamental issues, and since then they have tried to fix the fundamental issues without understanding why they're a problem and being unable to do so due to the nature of said problems being a result of the original game format.

Seems people are finally waking up...
Predicted these problems when 5v5 was announced.

Another think about tank too is that like if you lose it’s your fault but if the team wins, it’s everybody’s contribution counted except for yours that’s what it feels like

This is literally what drew me into overwatch was that it was an fps game but felt a little more like a moba and i loved it.

6v6 was better. The fact we’re still arguing proves that

Why did we have to increase the projectile size for all heroes? I feel like we should tune that back to what it was, return the health back to 200, nerf tanks and their passives, nerf the dps passive, tweak some other heroes, and switch to 6v6. It would literally put the game in the best state it's been in for quite some time.

Overwatch not being JUST an FPS was what made it fun. The game has been on a downward spiral since OW2 came out. I almost exclusively play custom lobbies with my friends now, and that's the odd time we even play OW. Playing the game is just pain.

I believe the only way to fix these issues is with hero reworks, not format changes. But I also don't trust the team to makereworks that reach original OW1 quality. And this is why, even if I never really played, I support 6v6 - because 5v5 will either forever sacrifice the tank player or destroy all the characters that made the game fun in the first place.

Guys. I have taken 2 weeks off of overwatch and i dont feel the urge to play it anymore. I think im going to stop playing it (im a doom main) i am better on tank by a mile but im two ranks bellow my dps (gold 3 vs. diamond 2) i dont feel like i have an impact and im not having fun. I advise you to do the same.
