MAXXIS High Road Tyre Review

Product Details:

Foldable Bead
Foldable beads also keep the tyre secured to the rim but are lighter weight and easily transported. The bead is made of spun aramid or Kevlar Fibers.

Carbon Fibre Bead
A flexible material with greater strength to withstand the forces exerted by a high-pressure road tyre.

Single Compound
One compound throughout the tread optimized for longevity and performance.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless Tyres Provide The Rider With Many Benefits: The Ability To Run Lower Air Pressures, Which Improves Traction; Lower Rolling Resistance
When Compared To A Tube-type Tyre; And Less Chance Of Flatting Since There Is No Tube. Liquid Sealants Should Only Be Used In The Following Types Of Tyres: Tubeless Road, Tubular, And Tubeless Ready. The Use Of Liquid

Hypr Compound
HYPR is a full-silica compound and our best-performing compound to date. Compared to our previous road racing compound, HYPR has 16% less rolling resistance with 23% better grip in wet conditions. Impressively, HYPR decreases rolling resistance and increases traction, all while keeping durability equal to our previous rubber compounds.

K2
Available in select tyres, this Maxxisexclusive fabric provides greater puncture protection than both standard Kevlar and Vectran. The addition of this
lightweight and supple material ensures that ride quality and performance remain
unsurpassed.

Threads Per Inch (TPI)
The number of threads that cross through one square inch of a single ply of the tire’s casing. Lower TPI gives better puncture, cut and abrasion resistance but is heavier. Higher TPI conforms better to the terrain, offering a smoother, more comfortable ride while reducing the weight of the tyre.
Maxxis TPI ratings are the threads-per-inch of a single casing ply, as compared to some competitor TPI ratings.

I run a set and got them on very easily, no tyre levers needed. Not sure if it was your specific rim or something Chris but I didn't have that issue at all

When the tyres are hard to put on and take off, you need three levers and I've found the best are the yellow Michelin plastic levers. They are wide enough and flexible and they won't snap under pressure.

I sell these A LOT to my customers who don’t want to spend GP5000 or Corsa money on tires that ride fantastic but may cut and may have to be retired prematurely. Tubeless now available too

Have run them for over a year avg. 200km per week. Never flatted. #touchwood keep up the vids well done boys on the outstanding results as of late.

Trying these for the first time. Got about 500 miles and I like them. These are some of the easiest tires I have ever mounted on my Reynolds Aero 46 wheels.
I gave up on conti 5000’s from them getting cuts all the time

Great honest review. I commute on the Maxxis Refuse; cheap, reliable and ride pretty ok too. I might have to give these a shot too

Thanks Chris - having to stretch them overnight kills all the other benefits mate

Just want to comment that this is way better than the clickbait-nosubstance GP5000 video you made earlier. Thumbs up.

Thanks for the reviews, very useful to us. I used Maxxis Colombiere 25s for a while and loved them but they're hard to come by nowadays. Do you know how the High Roads correlate to the Colombieres? Oh and what's with the bartape?!

And the new High Road is even better!
So easy to put on, so good to ride.

I've found the trick with mounting tight tyres is to cover EVERYTHING in talcum powder. Stops stuff jamming together and makes the whole job easier.

I've just use an Maxxis Pursuer 28c clinchers and no puncture for almost 4000kms 😮
