Two years ago, Scotland's Elaine Shallcross was diagnosed with breast cancer. After some rounds of promising chemotherapy treatments in 2019, the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. To raise funds for cancer research, Shallcross embarked on a campaign that went viral (in the best way): #shuvitcancer. Learn about this cause, and Shallcross's brave personal quest for an NBD—which has captured the hearts of pros like Daewon Song, Andrew Brophy, Tony Hawk, and Torey Pudwill—in our profile.

This is inspiring and inspirational. We think we have it bad, until we see somebody like this who won't give in and is skating at 68. Amazing! Thanks Berrics!

It's incredible to see a posh older British lady joining the skate family! I haven't been able to skate for 6 years because of disability issues with my knees but I'm still in love with skateboarding and even if i can't skate i get enjoyment from watching it! Skaters are the best people, the people I've met and the relationships that I've built through skateboarding are amazing and I'm thankful I found it before my awkward teenage years because it helped develop as a whole person and helped me make friends and travel. Now it's helping this lady to raise money for something so important and giving her the will and energy to try. It's beautiful!

The joy and love this woman is feeling will heal her. I promise you she will heal if she keeps healing her own internal trauma with love and joy. That's where cancer comes from.

My aunt recently passed from stage 4 cancer and that was the first time I’ve ever seen anyone pass right before my eyes. This lovely lady reminds me so much of her and my aunt knew how much I loved skateboarding to her place to leave her flowers when it was getting really bad for her in her last days. I miss her so much and I can’t believe she’s gone. But I’m shed tears of joy knowing more and more out there are fighting everyday with a positive view. I hate cancer but I love life.. People like this lady and skateboarding brings joy to my young life and build up my heart. I hope the best for her and everyone that’s in fight of a constant struggle. I miss you aunt Joe.. I’ll keep pushing
