Shellac vs. Gel Polish

Originally CND Shellac wasn’t referred as a gel polish at all, simply borrowing gel technologies with the cure processing with the CND UV lamps.. It was years later that they began referring to CND Shellac as a gel polish… and I love the entire line, I just am more careful when describing the difference like you did, CND Shellac polish does NOT damage the natural nails, but if it is filed off that can damage nails, using a wrap with cotton and foil using pure acetone is safest.

Mmmm 🤔 where I live if you ask for “shellac” they do not do the gel base. They go straight with the colour and the finish look it’s very similar to what you have when you use regulars polish. It’s thinner and last a bit less than the gel.

Is it like how we just call everything Xerox but Xerox is the brand? I GAVE NEVER gotten gel or anything over basic manicure done. I use gel colours at home but haven't cured or anything I wonder how that colour will show
