How To Collimate a Reflector Telescope (EASY METHOD)

The one thing that puts most people off buying a reflector telescope is the word COLLIMATION! Well, in this video I will show you just how easy it really is to collimate a reflector telescope.

I watched three other videos on collimation, which had a lot of the same information but weren't as clearly laid out, and my collimation wasn't great. Then I watched your video, sat down at my scope, and nailed it. So either I'm a slow learner or you're a great teacher--and probably it's both. Also mention that when working on your telescope, it's a good idea to keep it level. Lest you drop a tool on your primary mirror.

Excellent videos Jason. As a first time owner of an 8inch Dob, I first tried out collimating with a laser collimator without much success. Despite following step-by-step with various Youtube videos. Then I tried out the hole in a cap method and I dare say that it was pretty easy and effective. Thanks.

Very helpful! I just poke a hole in a dust cover with a needle, and it fits perfectly in the focuser. Works like a charm
