It's one of the most iconic and recognisable buildings of the 20th century, one of the symbols of both Sydney and Australia - and it's my home town hero! The Sydney Opera House is an undeniable masterpiece of human creative genius. Its design and appearance are inspired by lotus flowers, completely overturning the traditional opera house design and even transitioning to futurism ahead of schedule. The contribution to the modernist architectural design is very huge. It is the best example of early modernism. Construction started in 1953 and completed in 1973. The Sydney Opera House is currently one of the youngest World Heritage Sites in the world, and it has become one of the most famous national landmarks in the world.

Don’t bother asking if you can film inside places, most of the time staff don’t even comment or care about it! (Although I don’t know how you stand legally when posting videos…can they sue you for that?)

Also, why is it shaped that way, I’m going to google it now anyway, but it always reminded me of either boats sticking up or a line of shark fins…
