This is the worst boss in the game so far. Not because it's difficult to do normally, but it's terribly designed to be able to avoid all of the attacks for no damage with the base toolkit. The two AoE attacks with all of the random little lightning balls are very inconsistent to dodge. Even with perfect dodges, a bad pattern will still hit you. The cloud step thing also half works, but if you get one while it's off cooldown, not much you can do.

What makes it worse is that there's two parts of your toolkit which would be perfect to consistently deal with them, if the game allowed for it. The reflect works well for the airborne ones, and the pillar stance would be great for the ground ones. The problem is that the boss input reads you, so any time you use the pillar stance, it immediately does the charge attack, and the arena is too small to be able to outrange it in nearly every scenario. Similarly, if you use the deflect, it'll throw out another attack in the middle of the deflect and nullify that.

So, I'll use that stupid input reading to cancel his own animations instead. Press the heavy attack, immediately dodge to cancel it, and the boss will stop what it's doing to input read charge you. All in all, I didn't enjoy this fight, and I'm rambling on about a minor boss that's so insignificant to the rest of the game, that it feels pointless. But this one sucked for no damage, and even if it's a little cheesy, I'll use its own gimmicks against it.

Learn the attack patterns for the bosses and they are all easy to beat, many of the bosses seem to have the same patterns as well.

I completely disagree with the description. The spin staff does work on the tracking electric flies and with it maxed, you will gain 3 focus points. Which is where the pillar staff comes in. Because you already have the focus points, you will climb the staff quick enough to avoid the lower AOE electric flies.
The A.I. system doesn't react to what you are doing. That is a myth. The problem is that you are anticipating rather than reacting and that is causing a delayed recovery. Resulting in a whiff punish.
Without focus points, you won't avoid the AOE quick enough. It's one of my favorite fights so far because you get to utilize multiple techniques with the Bostaff. It requires some skill and your stats could definitely help, but it's not unreliable to beat without taking damage.
