Something you don’t mention in this video but should have:
Yes, you can make a Rogue who is good at both archery and knife-fighting or a Warrior who is good at both sword & board and two-handed weapons, but you really shouldn’t. You can’t swap weapons in the middle of a fight and you’ll eventually have a party of three other characters to cover for your weaknesses. This game strongly encourages making highly specialized characters. You can play a pure archer who never gets involved with melee because you can have one to three of your companions be melee fighters and keep enemies away from you.

Rogue is the most versatile base class as you get access to both ranged and melee. Highly mobile with spike damage and hit-and-run tactics. Can't go wrong with stabby or archer because you can respec later. Gets ludicrously OP if you specialize in artificer and have another rogue in the party. *May melt your GPU.* Other specializations are slightly less OP but equally as fun.

Warrior is easiest to play and a great main or off tank. Doesn't matter if you get two hand or sword and board because you can respec later. Has limited support that affects the whole party and shouts at stuff to protect squishies. Specializations range from pseudo-Paladin, an even tankier tank, or being *literally too angry to die.* May not kill things as fast as the Rogue, but has a good balance of damage and survivability.

Mage is going to be a bad time starting out but pays off once you get deeper in the skill tree. Decent support and amazing crowd control. Magic isn't as flashy as Dragon's Dogma but the sound design makes everything sound satisfyingly "crispy." Two specializations equally get the job done while Knight Enchanter *literally breaks the game.* Spec into shield for god mode and lighting for good synergy and more buttons to press. Has a multi-res that would make Season 1 Mercy from Overwatch blush.

No matter what class you start with, you're going to wish you started with the other two. But that's why you have party members and you can switch between them on the fly to experience as much as possible.

I'm still torn. I love the sword and shield and mage and wish I could combine them for a sort of battlemage class.

Depending on how reactive your teammates are, you're supposed to build a team. If the healer is bad, then or BE the healer to keep them alive. If they don't do damage, be a mage to DPS more, if they always rush in, cover them with arrows....
I still don't know what I'm supposed to be... but this video is the best about the Class selection, so Thanks.

I started the game as a mage and it was overwhelming to get through the learning curve. But I eventually started getting the hang of it. It’s a fun class, but a bit more confusing than rogue or warrior in my opinion.

two handed hammer champion ftw for solo play.

I started with archer rogue, kind of regretting not going with a two-handed warrior, but oh well! Lots of fun regardless.

Funny. The music in the background at the character creation menu stronly resembles the one from the Mass Effect 2 trailer.

I started the game (about 20 minutes) as a mage but I'm considering making a new character. I don't know, I'm not feeling the way mages attack and can't move while casting spells :/

Dagger rogue, assassin path, with leeching poison and a weapon made with the +3 guard on hit. Pop poison, use assassinate (bonus if you have the 'no witnesses' perk) and you can wreck a group of enemies, refill your HP, AND start off with a full guard guage in just your opening salvo.

Ive always thought every single game fucks up at this part, they male you choose with so little info and you cant change later, they should give you like the intro/ tutorial with a bit of every class and then make you create the character and. Start the story

Regardless, this was an amazin video, steaight to the point and very clear

I like using the Tactician's Renewal and trying new playstylrd with my characters.
Sometimes a character besides the Inquisitor is a spell sword with ice spells. Then I use that amulet and make them a support fire mage.
You can really play most play styles in one playthrough if you're fine with controlling players besides the protagonist.
But I'm gonna replay for the different dialogue and character development.

Went mage cause...well why not? rather not get slapped in the face by mobs, and let my others do the face tanking for me XD.

I admit that face to face fighting is fun at times but seriously sword combat is boring to me (imo) being able to conjure up fire, ice, lightning and being able to heal AND buff everyone makes me feel just epic.

Not being able to move while casting is a moot  complaint when most if not all mobs should be dead before they even get to you XD unless its a boss.

I used dual blade rogue and I actually chose a few trap skills for poison mix with dual blade skills. Omg, sooo much dmg. xD
