Years ago when my youngest son was 8 we went to london to visit for a week. I asked a guard could i take a photo of my son with him. He noded i put my son a distance from the guard but they would both be in the picture. The guard moved next to my son. I was surprised but thrilled. I took the picture and thanked the guard. My son was smiling he thanked the guard as well. If you treat them with respect they are lovely

Some of them standing so close their bodies touch him....they obviously forget he's a human

I feel like they shouldn’t be allowed to walk up and take pictures with these guards. They are on duty and not a Disney land attraction. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I like this guard very much. Respectful, soft tone and yet demanding and clear. My heart goes out to them - standing for hours, need to have patience with the tourists and pictures taken. Can’t imagine how they must feel at the end of the day. I deal with a quarter of the people he needs to deal with and I am losing my composure more than once a day. Dude you should receive a medal.

This was the most calm " Stand back " I've ever heard that's so nice..

A most reserved Guardsman. He gave the gentlest stomp possible, and instructed the tourists to step back without screaming. The most Chill Guardsman I've seen yet. Respect.

They do not need chill guards, they need respectful visitors.

Well done, kind Sir! I'm an American, and I've always marveled at the discipline and patience of these dedicated soldiers. I'm embarrassed for the people who treat these gentlmen like ornaments, and NOT human beings performing a vital service to the Monarchy. Well done asserting yourself and setting a boundary with kindness and tolerance. 👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻⚘️

I've noticed this particular guard is softer sounding, still authoritive and not to be disrespected, he is working, not just a photo opportunity ❤️

This guard has an insane amount of tolerance.

Legit the calmest "stand back" I've ever heard from a King's Guard. Didn't expect that.

This guard was very patient! He didn't scream like most other guards do!

There is not a single person who says to the Royal Guard: excuse me, sir... Thank you, sir, you have been very kind... Nor do tourists keep a safe distance from the Royal Guard when they take the photo. The Royal Guard
is a soldier, therefore he is a public servant in service and he is also a human being who deserves the greatest respect, he is a person of flesh and blood and not a wax figure. Respect him !!.

That is officially the nicest stand back from a Queen guard yet!

After he said stand back he gave a nod which makes me think somebody was coming through and he was just alerting them in what I think was a very polite way to clear the area. He was so polite to everyone and nobody even said Thank you to him.

He’s counting down the hours/minutes/seconds until his shift ends. 😂

He understands that it's a tradition and that people come to see them and take pictures. He gave them their photo opportunities but enough is enough. Gotta respect that. And he was very polite in letting them know
