We were in London early December a few years back, and we didn’t like Winter wonderland either. We LOVED the Christmas lights that changed theme in different parts of the city! We bought Christmas ornaments in the markets and we hang them up in our Christmas tree every year since!

A Christmas carol at the old Vic was the best play I have ever seen

I liked walking around Winter Wonderland but I travel alone. These really crowded places, I swear the most stress of it (unless you just don't like crowds then, yeah, none of this will be for you) is trying to keep track of each other. I have been to crowded places (theme parks, touristy spots) solo and I have been with others and it's far less stressful if you're just alone.

Could not agree more. Winter Wonderland is a rip off. Christmas Shopping wise, Regent Street was the best place for it back in the day (well the 1990s😂) Cinema wise, IMO the Prince Charles Cinema has a wonderful program of festive films.

I am actually going to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland soon. By the way, for rides, there are many winter wonderland fairs across England.

I took my daughter to WW on her 2nd birthday, on a Thursday during the day, when there weren’t really any crowds. I have really special memories of that day. A couple of years later we went with the rest of the family on a Saturday, and it was so stressful and chaotic. Adults tutting at me bc I’m not willing to let go of my 4yo daughter’s hand while they’re trying to barge their way through, all the family members ended up split up completely for hours, and ended up reuniting well away from WW.

Do you have any great ideas for the month of April.

I visited in Dec 22 and only stayed for about an hour.

Too much like a crappy state fair.😬🤪

I went to the WW when it was small and a few stands and thrill things..and it was very nice ..only because lived near there..Years after
it became h-e-l-l...so huge sprawling suffocating frightening..so crowded barely can move...noisey...and too over the top but they were obviously raking in all the money. Not so much Winter Wonderland as Winter Hellland

Ice skating on a rooftop?
What could go wrong there...?

Winter wonderland is soooo expensive and over hyped. I just like to take in the free Christmas lights and pop into Hamleys for a look (never pay the overpriced toys) and then grab some roasted chestnuts.

I wished I knew that :( I was so disappointed by Winter Wonderland. Awful crowds, awful coffee. And as you said: tacky.

Is it possible to get away from American accents, on youtube, even talking about London?!

Completely agree, Winter Wonderland is very overrated and they allow far too many people in.
