At 73 I’m a bit long in the tooth to be a peasant princess but I do love the tradition of cleaning and freshening one’s home🤗

The secret world of Arriette is also an amazing spring time watch.

All the flowers, plants, birds, and animals start to peek their heads out.
I watch for new signs of life everywhere.
There's a big tree behind my house, in the neighbor's yard, that blossoms early.
It brings me joy to see it each year.
I like to imagine if all the blossoms were little flower shaped letters with people's wishes and problems written on them.
When the wind blows them loose, I would gather them up and read them, say prayers for some, laugh with those that laugh and mourn with those that mourn.
As the wind carries the blossoms away, it carries their problems away.
It helps me to realize that most of life's problems are just temporary and to focus on the good and beautiful things in life.
Thank you for sharing all the beauty around you.
My favorite springtime songs are
"Give, said the little stream"
and
"Little purple pansies by the garden wall."
While out thrifting, I purchased an old brass p.o. box door.
I want to use it to make a gnome door on a big mulberry tree, in my yard.
When my oldest daughter was young, she was fascinated with making faerie doors.
We loved watching the movie FairyTale: A true story (1997), together.
It's always a fun nature themed movie.
Best wishes for your greenest garden yet.
Hope you decide to grow pumpkins too, so you have lots to harvest and decorate with.

Where I live in the Rockies, we’re about a month behind the rest of the US for spring. We got about 4 inches of snow today 😅. At least I can live vicariously though you. I literally bought a copy of The Secret Garden at my bookstore last week. I haven’t read it since I was about 12 and I can’t wait to get back into the story. There’s a 90s movie with Maggie Smith that I remember enjoying.

Our Indian Heather is in near, full bloom and our doves have returned to nest in our backyard tree. Lots of flowers 💐 are blooming in our patio pots. Our lawn is greening up nicely too! We live on former farm land, so our yard really thrives in Spring.

This is our first year of getting blue birds. I want to make more homes for them. Oh, see you have a Magnolia tree near your little cottage. We had one at our old place. I loved watching it and seeing the flowers. My gram, use to love after supper was done . Sit in her yard, list to the birds. She would have, me guess who was singing.

Spring truly is here and finally the weather is warming up. u both have a way of brining Spring to my home each time you come on! Thank you for giving us so many ideas! Yu dod have your cottage looking so darling! Cannot wait until flowers do come out! I am not much on which flowers are edible, but several years ago before retiement I worked as activities director in an adult home * a stone English style mansion, on the hill * In upstate NY*, (for 20yrs I worked there and filled in with nursing) One of my programs was a Wedding celebration and we had vintage wedding gowns and some employees could still wear theirs * wedding was not too many yeears behind them..* and some just brought them in to be placed up and shown, as my own. We did have a cake and the cook, was nice enough to get the edible flowers together (purchased) for us to put on the wedding cake we served it. We celebrated this on the lovely porch in the back of the home, with music after the presentation and a little dancing *some residents joined us but our employees as well as myself, did all we could to make it excting for all * This I am adding as an idea as maybe someone would like to use the edible flowers on a wedding cake!? It is expensive though, and so we could not repeat this experience. But if anyone knows which flowers you can use and where to get them, it may help with this? It is easier now to find things like this on internet. You are both so wonderful to help jolt the memory!! Not only the memory but givingi inspiration for the present!! Getting us going once more! Thank you. *you do have me in the mood for more flowers this year and will maybe do a little more of a garden8I love herbs and do hav a few and enjoy including couple annuals in large pots, like Basil and Rosemary, (Basil will spread like crazyand tke up a whole garden so be careful where it is planted, but it is wonderful to go out and pick it when you want it...Perennials come back each year and are wonderful to have, but all are easy to grow. My husband calls them "weeds" teasing me lol As to be honest my husband and i have not done so much in last few years.( I love reading! *So many ideas my dear friends!) BTW ( The Wedding Cake was absolutely beautiful with thse edible flowers on it! Tasted good too! Made it just a bit more charming!) Someone may well bre haviing a Spring/Summer Wedding??

So relaxing, beautiful and takes you to a life that makes so much more sense. Love your outfits, do you make them Lindsay?! We need to get back to nature and when we fix our home so they are frilled up a bit, we have more respect and love for them and it proves we love our family enough to want it lovely 'for them too.' They can appreciate this even if they do not seem to at first. They learn how to respect and maybe can help you . When they are done playing they can find it to be game to get everything placed back into a fancy made box or whatever you please. I just feel decorating the home makes us feel like we are living in a cottage, mansion or whatever we want it to be. Many, many, many years ago, a friend of mine was having a cup of tea one afternoo t my home, and with me, and she said " You and Danny *My husband* can take any home and make it into a paradise. She was right, wherever we have lived we did some fixing for ourselves. For our family. We had to live there and we wanted to be happy and comfortable. As years go by and your children are grown and move away somtimes, we just get "stuck" as we have it comfortable enough, but we do not keep changing things so much. But we should even bring in some flowers, some kind of life and just enjoy any'' little thing can make a big difference, ' I think anyway! Thank you both for helping us "remember" This was a wonderful "bucket list"
