Such a great series! This is going to be a very helpful jumping off point for a lot of people!

I can't wait for 201 and 301 for myself!
I'm sure you will; But I hope, at some point, you cover the difference between communist ideologies... I'm still really confused about the differences between M, ML, and MLM lol

Another great video comrade!😩 To add a Micheal parenti quote to the small business/petty bourgeoisie: “ Lifespan of mice under stomping elephants.” Or something along those lines

Yup. Web Dev here. Still, I was a permanent employee before, but now I've been "pushed" to become a contractor, still under the umbrella of an agency (still can be fired on a dime, with less benefits than permanent employees). And now that my contract is up, I'm trying to ditch my "parent" company and be an independent contractor, because I can make more money by removing the middlemen between me and the client. If I can do that, I'll file for a company's permit, and I'll be incorporated.

Now, what am I? I'm basically an employee with a high salary but no protections and benefits (compared to permanent employees). The turnover in my domain is very high anyway, and being permanent is no guarantee of a cushion, I can only rely on my coding abilities to land a better job, so I'm simply embracing the direction that I "have" to go into.

I want Socialism for the environment, for democracy at work, to turn the negative impacts of automation into a benefit for the world, to lower the amount of work everyone has to do to live well, to remove the crass inequalities plaguing us.

I grew up poor, still have a poverty mindset and don't spend much, but I want everyone to experience the liberating feeling of not looking at the bill when buying things at the store. I want an unexpected spending to not be a problem. I want people to escape the scarcity mindset, and the only real way is democratic planning of production and distribution.

Oh, and sorry for the wall of text, but I think that "professionals", with a useful trade, are very important for the emancipation of workers. For example, by being biased, I'll say that hacking during the revolution, communication methods, democratic tools, and automation after, will be fundamentally important for democratic planning... Bound my salary with a ratio within the society, pay me the same as janitors, make me rotate tasks with the garbage cleaners from time to time, but I do think that my labor will be critical for the proletariat. Even managers are super important, in my opinion. My current manager can fire me at any time, but right now he's shielding me from client's constantly changing requirements, he's organizing the tasks ahead... That stuff is important too.

All I'm saying is that it's good to nationalize the big players, to stop the surplus value from being the only focus, to remove the Capitalists from that role, and to let workplaces organize themselves on democratic, socialist, lines, with a coordination sector by sector within the broader economy (again, easier to do with automated tools).

It's actually my job to make tools for companies to have a ton of data, improve processes, automate things. I want to do that, but at the scale of society, providing everyone the info necessary to take transparent, democratic decisions.

Great video, excellent series which give a clear approach to Marxism
You certainly put a lot of work in it. Well done, comrade

Excellent video man! We need more accessible content like this that is shareable to your average joes who don't know anything about socialism and don't want to be deterred by the jargon. Will be sharing this among friends to share with their families.

PMC = Managers of Business on the Behalf of Capitalists
Cops = Managers of the State on the Behalf of Capitalists
They both fill the same social roll and are both workers, but their incentive structures are tied to the maintenance of the status quo.

This makes sense to me but I could be wrong.

There is something about you that is really attractive. I don't know what it is. I hypothesis is either of these three: -
1) Our ideological agreement (both MLM)
2) Your good looks (not jealous😂)
3) Your sweet Irish accent (not being racist)
4) Your way of (""usually"") simplifying explanations😂😂😂

Amazing series! As a pal from a country that's seen such a mixture of socialists and capitalists, I really appreciate this universal approach to better understand socialism and how it could take place properly in my own country. Keep on the amazing job 👏

Very good. Especially that post script going into depth about the discussion around the various definitions of certain classes. I didn't know some people referred to managers as petty-bourgeois, concerned about an idealistic streak getting into the theory.
Love this series. Even as a seasoned theory enthusiast it's good to reacquaint one's self with the basics every now and then.
