NOTICE: In July 2021 the channel name changed from HamCuredSmoke
To Ham Radio A2Z. All of the earlier videos (like this one) are still available.

This is the final segment on CW operation. We finish up with looking at the CW-Reverse mode and how it can be used to help eliminate nearby, interfering signals.
In the introduction, I also give a shout-out to David Casler and his YouTube channel and give some short commentary about the growing list of people creating content for ham radio and technology.
You can find David's YouTube channel here:

Your comments about different teaching styles is a good one. There are lots of IC-7300 teaching videos on YT, but I am following yours because they are well made in terms of audio/video and content, are broken down into logical chunks, so viewers can choose a specific area, if desired, and are no longer than necessary. I've unsubscribed to several otherwise great channels simply because I don't have time to wade through 40 minute videos to find a simple tip I'm looking for. Thank you for your short, but excellent videos.

Wow, that's a great tool to quickly remove a conflicting CW signal on the fly without having to adjust the notch filter. Great suggestion, thanks!

I have been watching KE0OG for several years. His videos helped me understand and pass my General & Extra certifications. He is a wealth of knowledge! When I got my Extra ticket, I went looking for a new radio. First the 991A then I purchased the IC 7300. Owning that radio, brought me to your videos. I am more of a visual learner. Thank you for making these great videos. 73's KD4MAN

Thank you! And yes, I agree about not competing with other YouTubers. I am learning from all of them. You all come from a different perspective.

Also, Yaesu and Kenwood default to CW-USB as normal. If I call them using IC7300 in default CW mode as comes from the factory (LSB), the pitch heard on their end wont be the same as I hear from the IC7300 sidetone. My tests show about 50 cycles difference, detectable but not bad.

At 1:00, when the video shows the back of your radio, there is a silver ribbon connected to the ground port. Where does this ribbon go to? How long is it? What is its name? I also see that you have an external tuner connected. Which tuner do you use? Which power supply do you use? My radio is still in the box!

Hi Tom,

If you have trouble to get signal for demonstration, jugst use your other HF rig to simulate the condition.

Hope it is useful for your next video..

Yours,

For DR and AR, which are two characters, can a single character for each be created in a CW message box?
