Almost any brick building can be saved - brick by brick. Build a steel frame to support the brick walls so it's safe - then replace brick as needed, the historic Joske's in downtown San Antonio
had the wood interior completely gutted by crews, then they built a modern fire-resistent steel and concrete structure inside - the historic walls were just an envelope.
