It takes 20 seconds to set the seat and steering wheel on Peugeots to see the dials perfectly over the top of the wheel. These guys didn't bother to do that.

Every time I come to get a new car I think "It won't be another Octavia VRS estate." Then I look at the alternatives and inevitably end up with another Octavia VRS estate.

The second I saw the 508 in the line up, I knew they would dismiss it for arbitrary reasons. And I was not disappointed. They are badge snobs and can't allow a Peugeot to be better than the badge snob favourites.

The VW was louder than the Peugeot. The instrument proved it. But because they FELT it wasn't, that was alright? Not really a fair test then, is it? If you arbitrarily change the goal posts.

It takes about a minute, maybe 30 seconds to adjust the driving position and wheel in the 508. They just didn't bother because they were not going to give the 508 a fair go anyway. Calling it louder than the VW, despite evidence to the contrary just proves the bias.

A proper test relies on repeatable metrics. You test ALL cars the same way and score them on the same metrics. Arbitrarily deciding on a personal hate or love is not a proper test.

Ngl, I'm totally impressed with the Skoda. It may be the shortest and yet it has the biggest boot and faster than a BMW. It's mind blowing! 🤯🤯

At the end of the day, for the price you pay, Skoda wins hands down and for those of you who are old enough(like significant greying or baldness)would ever have thought they would buy a skoda after seeing the 100 or 110. Love my 4x4 Superb estate

They eliminated the 508 over an opinion they didn't like the steering position, but the Arteon was the noisiest based on facts, but they got rid of the 508 instead. Makes no sense. The Arteon should've been first out.

Sorry jason, you cocked up the lap time of the bmw. You did the lap with 242bhp not 292. You have to engage Xboost to get the full 292 and it lasts for 10 seconds.

and it's interior alone is a enough reason for that

To find the best car, all test need to done by all cars, some excel in one thing & not others for each model

The steering wheel is perfectly fine for long relaxing driving. If your drives are not relaxing then please don’t drive at all and get into your chesterfield sofa that’s stuck in your staircase. Besides the Peugeot seats are one of the best in category. The noise? It was 69 db, like the other two and one was louder so what was your point? And it has a great amount of space, like the others. As for the driving test, many motor journalists gave it a positive score. Not that is something to write home about it but very decent. And then the exterior design is the nicest of the bunch. Sorry not sorry but you failed the test and get a F (grade) not just by me.

It’s not really a fair test when you decide the winner from the start. Why did the BMW not get multiple runs and why was it stated that it wasn’t being driven flat out?

Skoda is a super car but this is more of an advertisement than a true comparison.
