Tor is not completely anonymous. You can still be tracked. It’s just harder. Also Tor is incredibly slow and exit nodes aren’t trusted by a lot of websites. It also makes MFA which uses location impossible.

SE student here, I honestly don't think people will start getting into privacy unless both UI and UX is refined for privacy tools. That's what's holding most people (Who btw are more tech illiterate than any of us would think) from jumping to a more privacy respectful way of living

Even tor wont make you completely anonymous in some cases.
Few years back there was a university student in california who didn‘t want to write an exam so he turned on tor and sent an anonymous email with a bomb threat to the school. After that, the exam was obviously canceled. The police looked into it, found out it was sent through tor, then looked for the person who used tor on the school network at the time the email was sent. And that was that.
