For those who are reading *_not_* rage quit. Finish the race. Do not rage quit.

One extra tip I've got about watching replays: watch it in the camera view you personally race in at least once as well. Chase cam is useful for identifying some parts of the track you might not be able to see and building a visual reference library for any given corner, but learning where to brake in the camera you are actually going to use is critical.

As I play in VR, there is a lot of extra information that's crucial for speed I glean from watching in first person camera. Not having access to the digital Tach, for example, means I need to be able to read the gauges actually present in the car to figure out when to shift.

Watched till the end despite not owning GT7… I’ve enjoyed your recent epiphany and how you’ve really started to find your feet within the format. Keep it up buddy.

Great instructional video Rory, thanks. I'm a driver who's gone from B to A and back again a number of times. My other tips are to do the weekly race you're good at (B or C). Spend a half hour or more qualifying as high up the grid as possible (bit of a shame we have to do this) so you're racing ahead of battles and carnage. Do that race over and over and you'll get positive (blue) DR after every race. If you're having a bad race, don't quit because it'll take you another 3 or 4 races to get back the DR you lose if you quit.

A+ driver here, Im a decent amount into A+ too, great video, follow what he says and you will gradually get quicker, great advice.

I will throw this one question at you though Rory, how do you feel about countersteer assist and what ever the other one is, " active stability control" if I remember correctly?

I turn both of these on for daily races as it means I survive unexpected hits from other racers.
I still usually finish in the top 5 in A+ daily races.
Happy for you to say negatives in regard to these aids but it works for me, cheers.
Keep up the good work.

One of the best comprehensive GT7 “go quick” guides … at least for those of us who are new to sim racing within the last few months.

This was a very smart video to make. Now, when new people from GT7 look for tips and tricks, they will find the best community in GT7💪💯

My main issue of getting a higher ranking is mostly that I’m constantly surrounded by idiots online :’) Blocking, braking in a full throttle corner, forcing you off the track, dive bombing and straight up ramming… I guess it can mostly be prevented by trying to qualify as far forward as you can, but I’ve experienced there’s still a high chance of still getting rammed of forced off track even if you start p1… Online racing would be a lot more enjoyable if players had better driving etiquette. Lots of people get so angry when you pass them and often will resort to any dirty trick they can think of to ‘get you back’… especially in the lower ranked lobbies, decency en driving etiquette are often nonexistent.

I've had the game since it came out. Bought a wheel at the same time. It has taken me til just last week (4/28) to achieve A+... over two years. The only reason I made it, was watching Rory and maybe two other guys and picking up on the things he mentioned in this video. Thank you Rory! The only other thing I would mention, is perhaps to be selective with the daily races. I, like many others, have a limited amount of time during the week. I get to play maybe a max of 3-6 hours every week. It isn't enough time for me to master 2 races. So I pick the combo that best suits my ability, and I attack it. Sometimes, I guess wrong. Instead of beating my head against the wall and losing DR, I switch to the other track. Back when we had the 20 laps at Suzuka, I wanted that race so badly, but out of 5-6 tries, I got top 5 one time. Had to switch to daily B. Immediate improvement ensued. Thanks for all the videos Rory!!😊

Roy, cheers from the States. Been watching the top replays but never thought to write any notes and wasn't aware of the settings change. Never give that any attention. This is crazy helpful, your lessons are great.

Damn Rory, relentless with the Friday content! This is going to be a great video to refer back to for a lot of the GT community.

What a great video. I’m 70 years old but would still like to improve. I found these best practices really helpful. Thanks.

A+ driver here, but not as high as Rory. Just want to add a take from a guy who got there doing things a little different.

I will use traction control 1 when needed. His example in the video used TC5, agree there is no need to ever use that high of a setting if trying to get to A+. Probably have a hard time getting to B with TC5. But, if driving a car that can be somewhat squirrely, TC1 has a minimal impact on speed and can help prevent problems for me when racing in heavy traffic. Mainly only use in Gr3 and above and only when important for control.

I dont choose the fastest car in each race. I have a few cars I enjoy driving and try to get the most out of them. My most common choice is Ferarri for Gr3 & Gr4. Almost never the meta cars, though Gr4 458 is often stronger than Gr3 against the field. For me I get more enjoyment from driving certain cars so stick with them. However, Rory is right that the meta cars are better if you're simply chasing speed

No big disagreements really, but wanted to point out that there is some flexibility in getting to A+

Holy crap this really help so much. Went from P12 all the time to P2 in one race. You earned a subscriber!

I finally managed to get to A rating last week through the hell of Trial Mountain. Getting a good qualifying lap in and racing clean is a big help too. Great video Rory!

Great advice Rory! I’ve found I can go much faster with traction control set to 1, maybe if it’s a more powerful rear wheel drive car I will use it set on 2! To me, it’s just enough to get more traction out of corners in lower gears and get on the power sooner. But everyone will find this different! Keep up the great vids mate 👍

I love how everyone says “choose the car that fits you best, the one that fits your driving style… bla bla” and then Rory “choose the meta!” 😂

Thank you so much for doing this video. I cannot wait to practice these techniques later tonight.
