Alberta election: Rachel Notley concedes, vows NDP will continue to stand up for Albertans | FULL

Danielle Smith will continue as premier of Alberta after a United Conservative Party win in the provincial election.

During her concession speech, Alberta NDP Leader Rachel Notley said her party will continue to stand up for all Albertans to have their voices heard.

“Where we fell short, the responsibility rests entirely with me,” Notley said, met with gasps. “That’s fine. That’s the joys of being a leader...It’s part of responsibility and accountability.”

She said the NDP is forming the largest Official Opposition in the party’s history, breaking a previous record set in 2019. She also said the NDP collected the most significant proportion of the popular vote in its history.

This is great news for the province. The ndp nearly destroyed the province and while appealing to the lowest common denominator in this election came up well short.
