Hi I think that you mean 2.28 and you are perfectly right, it does show me putting the probe on N when carrying out the L3 to E part of the test. I think it may have been a mistake when the video was edited and the wrong section of the video was cut in.
Thanks for pointing it out though.

When testing live, its always good practice to put your test leads first on the non live conductor and then to a live conductor don't you think? I know you cant do it between phases but between earth / phase and neutral / phase should always be.

disconnect at the DB and at the first light and mega your cable, disconnect subsequent connections between each rose or outlet and do the same until you find which run is crushed...etc

from educational point of view perfect clip -so many mistakes the viewer has to corect himself, learning.

Thanks Pacman. I corrected him on another electrical video which he blamed on how it was edited ? I personally would have watched all of my final edited video before putting it on internet :)

In some load centers the ground & the common is combined.

is this for low voltage system ? or this also valid for MV / HV systems ? as u have mentioned its a live test, so HV 132kV how we can make connections ? to me its very dangerous. plz advise . thnx

At 1.37 he says about going onto L1, but he puts it onto a blue (neutral cable) Please could someone explain this.Thank you

Can anyone help. Im doing a fault finding in a lighting circuit. How do I find where the neutral is touching the live. All the wires look fine so im at a loss

Would be good if father time wasn't using a tester as old as he is.

Measuring tools of this brand and model Can the short-circuit current be tested separately between L and N and L and PE?

Hi Sir, minute 2:28 i think a mistake was done. You are measuring the PFC between live and neutral, not between live and earth .

Great video but I don't understand the idea of parallel paths that would increase the value, what parallel paths are we talking about 🤔

At 5.28 on this video he says he is going to earth but it shows him putting his test lead on the neutral bar. Can any one explain please.ta

Max short circuit current would be a fault between L1 L2 L3 ?

Chris, firstly great videos!, can you possibly do one for testing from a main db to a new installed db1? i'm not entirely sure where to get all the values for the installation certificate from in this scenario, the information doesn't exist (or i can't find it even in your book).

I'm sure many others would appreciate it.

Also at 2:30 he says "blue phase and earth" when he's clearly measuring between L3 and Neutral as can be seen, what a wally. We are trying to get it right for our AM2 exam and here is a 'professional' showing us incorrectly!

This is the 1st video I have seen which says all MCB’s and Main Breaker should be turned on to get all the possible parallel paths and fault conditions which makes perfect sense to me . However other video’s, demonstrations and even of Sparkyfacts it states the Main switch You be off and you test to the incoming side of it!
So which is it Mains Switch on or off? finding no guidance on this on any publications.

did anyone else notice when testing L3 to earth he actually tested between L3 to neutral? good videos though. :)

Prospective current is same as Full load current of the system or conductor ? bit confusing .
there is another assumption we make is Max. Fault current level . i m lost ... need some guidance. any one ???
