It’s even worse in Norway, we are not even part of the EU, but we still have to deal with these freaking bottles. First they made the plastic so flimsy and thin, you can’t even grab a bottle without it spilling everywhere! Now this?! And it’s not just soda either, it’s EVERYTHING. Milk, juice, ice tea++++. Don’t even get me started on the paper straws and wood utensils on everything…. Not to mention EVERY single new and exciting flavor that comes out seems to be either sugarfree or at least have some sort of artifical sweetener added. Nah, I’ll pass.👎

I always twist off the new lids & don't recycle them now out of spite, whereas I always recycled separate lids with the bottles. F*ck em.

We have them on milk cartons as well, and it is literally (and I'm not using that word lightly, I do mean LITERALLY) impossible to open the carton without spilling about 20ml-50ml of milk. The force you need to crack the new "double" seal is just so great that you end up squeezing the carton so hard, you end up squeezing the milk out when the cap is still on.
It is just dumb and another tactic to make us feel great about recycling when all we do is ship our trash to China to have it burned there

I always recycled the bottles with the caps on. But the first time I spilled cocke on my pants trying to twist the damn new caps off I decided to always throw the caps in the garbage and recycle the bottle without the caps. Suck me. I have spoken!

I think this is so stupid! As if people take off the cap and throw it away separately from the bottle. If you see empty bottles lying around they usually have the cap on it.

I'm over 70, I can't open them as easily because there's less to grab, I can't rip them off because they're too tough and the whole whole thing is pointless because we've always put the lid back on in order to recycle it anyway 🤬

I've recently discovered these on all my bottles in the UK. These lids are ⓢӈit! The lid scratches me in the face when I drink from it, drink spills on me if I rip it off, then the stick out bits scratch me in the face and hand. It literally makes no sense.
