Sudip Mazumder, professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and President of NextWatt LLC, principal deputy at the Southern Power Electronics Conference, SPEC 2017, discussing "Device and network centric control and modeling of power electronic systems and networks".
This outstanding researcher addressed the role of control in traditional electrical systems and networks and how they will shape the behavior of hybrid dynamics systems. Describing the traditional methods of control, analysis and power-electronic modeling is provided along with brief discussions about their strengths and limitations.
The talk offers some ideas on how and what radically new ideas may need to be synthesized that go beyond the historical and conventional needs of electronic power control with applications that include but are not limited to sustainable energy systems.
