The electric field value tells you the force that a particle will experience per unit of charge on the particle. It is a vector that points in the direction that a positive charge will be pushed by the field. In this video I go over the basic definition and equations for an electric field, several examples of finding the field value, superposition of fields, and how to draw electric field lines.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that all of theese topic 5 videos are not i the electricity and magnetism playlist, only like 5 videos are in there so I got a bit confused as to where the rest of the videos were. Great videos btw:)

So basically, if we were to put a positive charge in a field, the direction that the positive charge would hypothetically go under the influence of an arbitrary charge is the direction of the field?

Shouldn’t the value at 4:38 be negative?

Hi, I am confused about the case of a charge passing between a pair of parallel plates. Is the parabolic route applicable for both positive and negative charges?
