here’s my theory on the song “19”

(I posted some of this already but I wanted to elaborate more)

“19” talks about they are sacred to cross the line of becoming and adult and wanting to go back to being a kid

considering the black balloons, disco ball, and silver decorations the party seemed very elegant and adult like, , but it seemed to be crashed by more “youthful” items such as card games, pizza, and toy cars. they probably tried to have an adult-like party, but maybe they gave up on it and tried to become youthful again by changing the theme last minute? the sad looks on their faces means that they realized that even if the try to have a youthful party before crossing the boundary to becoming an adult, they can’t remain young forever. they had the party because they wanted to stop time, as it mentions in the lyrics, but it didn’t work

the word “back” in the background could mean that they want to go back to their more youthful, carefree times. but since the word seems more messed up and disarranged, it probably means that they tried to go back but it didn’t work and now it became a mess (I don’t mean that in na negative way)

behind the table you can see the basketball from “grow up”, cart from “hellevator”, and the speakers from “mia”, ,

“grow up” was about how it’s okay if you take your time and how you shouldn’t give up, but since the items are behind them, maybe they gave up on these morals in the song? maybe they feel rushed to become an adult in this song

“mia” is about how they (themselves) miss their old selves and how they (themselves) seem like a completely different person, and becoming an adult could make someone completely different

“hellevator” is about how they go through a tough times to reach where they are now, but as adults, maybe the cart in the back means that they’re trying to ignore the work they have to do and have a party instead? but it remains in the back cause they’re gonna have to go back to those problems in the end

also at 0:42, jisung turns his head towards jeongin, which could show that he is envious that he still gets to remain a kid while he himself has to cross the boundary of becoming an adult soon

there is also a sign that says “going places” in the back, but I don’t really know what else to say about that😓

I’m probably overthinking it but those are my thoughts😖🤧

It's such a sad song, talking about going from 19 years old to 20, that in your teenage years you're excited and wait for becoming an adult and when it's time and you turn 20, you just want to stop and turn back the time.

I'm crying, this hit me hard, as this song talks about the situation I've been through when I was turning 20... I love Stray Kids' relatable lyrics so much, and the beat here... I'm speechless, they're the best.

Is it just me or can this song have double meanings??? Like they can be addressing Time as a person or addressing a person they're spending time with???

After listening to stray kids from their pre debut something I can say for sure is their rap has the most amazing rhythm. Yes their vocals are impressive but I've never listened to rap that flow sooo well. Even bigger groups sometimes have a monotonous rap tune and rhythm. That is what sets me off about rap. The monotony in the flow. It's very difficult to come up with different tunes for every single rap and they gave a shit load of songs that have a shit load of rap but every piece of rap is so unique. It's not flat and monotonous. It's the perfect blend of tune and beat and emotion and speed. It's so impressive I can't even explain. They are even a self producing group. It's time they blow up already. 3racha especially is bloody talented and I won't be surprised if I see 3racha in the list of producers for other big groups in the future. Just wow.
