If you don't see "effect controls" on the left, go to 'Window' > 'Effect Control'

Is changing the text using scale any different to changing the font size? I thought it would be zooming in on it and therefore affecting its sharpness.

HELP... The actual Text Icon (below the hand icon) is missing from the toolbar.. What i have is a Zoom icon (magnifying glass)..
How do i add text or find the text icon? Im tired of using Titles as substitutes.. :(
