So....are those plates even bullet resistant? Like would it stop working when shot at by soldiers on the ground?

oh man i was expecting them just to just glue leaves on the tank but jeez....awesome high tech stuff

well, in this case, nobody here but us cars :)

Yeah im surprised people need this pointed out. I mean clearly its a thermal image, it mentions heat several times and heat seeking missiles.

there is a bloke who has spent roughly $200+ million in building flying cars but he can only get them t hover a few meters above ground. the older Volkswagen Beetles are capable of floating on water because of the way they were built. You can make cars float by building a fiberglass fuselage around the car and fill it up with dense layers of foam. it has been done on Monster Garage though they failed because they only had six days to make the cars float.

Engagements at sea are usually much farther than what you can see with a naked eye.

the enemy will be wondering "What the heck? fighting cars?"

It works by obscuring and diffracting its own heat signature and then replacing it with that of its surroundings. Stealth technology works in much the same way.... which is also why hexagonal pixels are involved.... cool stuff

now make this with little screens that would be awesome

soooo what about missiles launched at the front, back, or top of the tank? Do these things only protect from heat-seaking missiles that are exactly perpendicular to one of the tank's sides?

thats because counteraction isnt really a word we use. But he means what i think is closer to counter attack, or simply counter. To defend or oppose something or someone effectively. To use the correct/effective action to fight against a person/vehicle or strategy or technology. Its what you would do in order to fight whatever is attacking you.

Depends on the vehicle it's attached to, really. This isn't a singular "invisible tank design" so much as just a layer that can go on any vehicle (to an extent). In this case it's a CV90 which has been proven to have pretty darn good armour.

knowing and actually dealing with it are quite a different subject.

@NiburuTRUTH2012 It's said that, following the Franklin Felber theory, USA use basic anti-gravitacional technology to save fuel consumption with devices placed on aircrafts such as the B-2 Spirit or F-22 Raptor.
100% anti-gravitational propulsion is practically unworkable in practice, today. Although within the next few years, however, it will not be impossible.

that's why there is soldiers on battlefield to tell if it's a tank or car, and than it's not invisible

Why not use aerogel? It could sit in a desert all day and not change temperature more than a few degrees F.

battleships makes sense. Using heat seeking missiles in that case seems more likely. In the wars we've been fighting the missiles our tanks are coming up against are dead fire or wire guided, so i dont know how useful this will be (in general our enemies lack thermal vision too). Certainly makes sense for airplanes, but imagine it would ruin radar stealth which is to much to give up.

we still use battleships, and probably will use them more as they are getting close to creating a working rail gun and increase the range of the main cannon by a hundred or 2 miles i believe. Way more cost effective then using planes or cruise missiles, battleships have just lost their status of most important/dangerous ship (obvious as soon as WW 2 pacific war started). Even currently they use those 20 inch guns to shoot up shore targets. Also good AA capability.
