(4K) Dyess Airshow 2023: C-130J Hercules Airdrop Cargo Demo!

Welcome to the Dyess Big Country Air Fest 2023!

Filmed on April 22, 2023, this first video features the local 317th Airlift Wing and their C-130J-30 Super Hercules in a rare look at their Airdrop Cargo Demonstration capabilities.

Assigned to Air Mobility Command (AMC), the 317th AW operates as a tenant unit at Dyess AFB, which is under the control of the 7th Bomb Wing of the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). The 317 AW is a "tactical" airlift organization, flying the Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules. Since December 2003, the unit has been in a continuously deployed status in support of the Global War on Terrorism, with elements being deployed into combat areas. It is primarily tasked to transport cargo and personnel, and where circumstances require, airdrop them.
