The drogue must be one of the most overlooked pieces of equipment used by Loch Style anglers. Whats to pay attention to? You throw it out the back of the boat and crack on with your days fishing.

In this video I want to show you the importance a drogue has and some hints and tips on how to get the most from it.

If you have your drogue set up correctly you can adjust it so that both anglers get a fair crack at the fish.

lindsay, appreciate the walkthrough on the drogue setup.

wondering if you'd be willing to show us how you get everything prepared in the boat, starting from the dock until the point you begin fishing. i'm always struggling and wasting time with my gear prep, setup, and boat configuration (especially when fishing from a float tube).

The excessive heat this September made life difficult now it is finally cooling back to normal levels the fishing should improve significantly. A final few weeks on the boats. Then back to smaller stillwaters, the rivers and streams for grayling. Check, maintain all the boat rods, reels, equipment. Before properly storing them until spring. Unless you are having a predator session for that elusive Zander? Failing that it will be a blend of grayling and time on the vice. Counting the days before the boats are back on the water. Tight lines for the next few months and that first of many sessions on the boats next year.

This is a little off topic but I just wondered if you could possibly do a video, for setting up and using the rotary function on the FNF talon vice? I had a play about on my one and things just didn’t seem to sit right, it’s definitely 100% user error as this is my first rotary vice… it would definitely be good to see how a professional would use it!

Thanks Lindsay, daft question please. If you are a single angler in a boat (and wanting to use a drogue) which would be the best seat position. Would it be near the engine for ease of use (but getting more crabbing) would it be sat in the middle of the boat (better for less crabbing but a pain for getting to the engine after every drift) or would you sit near the engine with the drogue over the bow as mentioned by Steve Parton (also less crabbing as the bow points into the wind). unclipped lifejackets are useless 3.34 fixing hair and sunlasses isnt a priority 🙂
