Yamato 1/3000 SDF-1 Macross Review - CollectionDX

Detail of this massive toy is amazing kit. Good choice of clippers since I have that. I would like to get this as a model. I can't wait to start building some macross kits.

although i always wanted an sdf1 and this is not a bad toy its not it sadly :-( simply for the fact that i think this version is from later on in the saga where they modified the ship .... i would love them to make a version of this in the original coulers and where the arms are still those big aircraft carriers and the paint is white, bleu and

The 1/2000 does have the city in the leg. Check the forums at Macross World. The 1/3000 is basically an exact scaled down version of the 1/2000 with paint apps.


vf_1s there actually painted the city and made very small to scale valkyries for it. It's the way to go if you have the cash and the skills.

Mine just arrived!!! It's BEATIFUL!!! And quite heavy, actually feels very heavy.

That detail is amazing also props on using the Do You Remember Love opening!

The example of the car payment was a hypothetical one - both of my cars are paid off.

Unless you found a awesome deal on the SDF-1 Macross, the prices for this are very high, as in $350 to $425 high - hence the comparison to one months car payment.

But if you like it and have the money, then more power to you.

I would rather have a Primus, Unicron, or even that transforming Death Star.

And I would not have to spend one months car payment for any one of the aforementioned Transformers.

I have nothing against Macross, but I would like to pay off my car one day....

No it isn't. It's the mark of a collector loving what they love best AND a good reviewer. Attitude means a lot in these reviews, and if you don't have an emotional connection of some kind to the product, the audience knows it and becomes bored easily.

I would have given my right arm and any other appendage I have (maybe even some relatives) to have gotten the BIGGER SDF-1 garage kit from Yamato. That thing was a CLASSIC! But this one, though smaller, is super SWEET! Congrats on getting this beautiful, beautiful piece. Outside of the old Matchbox SDF-1 and the Yellow Submarine garage kit o the DYRL SDF-1 from about a decade ago, this Yamato SDF-1 is the reigning king of SDF-1 replicas.
