This town, situated at the intersection of a number of water, road and rail routes, is home to friendly people and a rich history.
Announcing your arrival in Radeče is an iron bridge which rises majestically across Slovenia's longest river, its 84-metre span linking the regions of Carniola and Štajerska.
From May to the end of October, these mighty waters play host to Radeče's famous raft, which provides a relaxing journey in the fascinating company of the town's raftsmen. A bowl of delicious goulash goes down more sweetly on water than it does on dry land, and there's always a refreshing drop of a little homemade something to welcome the first-timers into the friendly ranks of the raftsmen -- making the whole experience linger longer in the memory. If chance leads you to Radeče at the end of June, you'll be able to join us at our traditional rafting festival, with its lively series of cultural events and heavy dose of fun.
We offer a number of different raft-related programmes which can be tailored to your requirements. It's our job to make your day as memorable as possible.
Take a stroll below the ruins of Radeče Castle through the old town centre, whose Starograjska Street was once lively with traffic and commerce. Lovers of ecclesiastical heritage will find delights galore in a tour of the parish church of St Peter, which stands right by Plečnik's memorial to the WWII National Liberation Struggle, engraved with verses by Partisan poet Kajuh.
