Thanks Luke for your candid review of your evening session. Sometimes the complexity of what "we do" is lost on those who are not in the hobby and they never realize how hard and frustrating this hobby can be (at times).

So good to see you get to test this gear. As for the ASIAIR this transformed Astrophotography for me. I hate that it is a closed system but when it all comes together it just works!

Thanks for the little reminder that sometimes it's nice to just have an auxiliary rig that just works without all the fuss. Allows you to recoup and put your mind at ease to tackle the more complicated but finicky equipment 🙂 Happy you had some clear skies and beautiful image!

Nice to see you out imaging under the stars like the videos of old. Lovely image at the end there too.

It's interesting to see how many people also miss your porch captures. I think it's because it more closely matches what we are able to do at home. Thanks.

Great video once again Luke, the final image looks amazing. There is something to be said about getting outside and seeing the stars with your own eyes, I certainly intend to start doing more of this.

Hey Luke! So nice to see you back outside with a rig! It takes me back! I know what you mean, I miss it, having an observatory and letting Nina do everything, it’s really great to be back out with the gear and the good old ASIAIR! I love that thing too😀 Great image Luke, keep it up mate and clear skies!

couldn’t agree more luke, there’s so many things we can keep on adding to our setups to get marginal improvements from, but it’s so easy to forget how important simplicity can be. i think that’s one of the reasons i’ve still stuck with DSLRs and standalone autoguiders for so long- it’s simple to troubleshoot and it makes me feel more connected to what i’m shooting. just like how i want to upgrade my mount to a harmonic drive but my main gripe is keeping me back- none of them have an optical polar scope! i just really resist needing a laptop in the field i think, as do i resist getting stuck in the ZWO ecosystem. but, i just got hired for maybe the best job i could hope for for me right now, at my local telescope store! it’s just run by two guys who took over the business and have been growing it, and they’ve gotten to the point where they need an extra hand managing everything :) so maybe i will have to dip my toes into the more modern mounts and cameras after all. anyways, clear skies luke!

Hi Luke very nice image mate the observatory must be a real bonus when the weather is cold and for easy setup of your equipment but nothing beats being out under the stars on a clear night

Cool video. I will never get rid of my AM5/AA+ setup. It's just too convenient.
