Was diagnosed with Barrett’s 3 weeks ago after an endoscopy. I had the scope due to persistent nausea. Never really had acid reflux or heartburn. Took 6 biopsies, and they showed widespread Barrett’s, mild inflammation but nothing sinister. High PPI, re-scope in 2 years and just be careful with the diet. The worst bit was the scope itself, wasn’t pleasant even with sedation and I still feel like I’ve been punched in the windpipe but that can happen. I always say now I’m not glad I have Barrett’s but I’m glad I know I have it. It can be monitored and my consultant even said he has seen cases reverse so keep positive if you have been diagnosed.

I need to find myself a new GI because apparently whatever this supposed "surveillance" is, it isn't happening through my doctor. They say it's pre cancerous in one breath and tell you see ya in 3 years in the next.
