I feel he doesn’t speak because he’s either traumatized which is understandable and he’s also really young when he was an orphan

Rewatched this and that is honestly a horrific thought. Making toddlers into toys is absolutely something playtime co would do.

Looking back at Bron(Thomas), I can see the same phenomenon happening with other bigger bodies. My speculation is after experimentation, some have forgotten who they once were and due to being mistreated by the staff plus Prototype's influence, began developing more animalistic/feral instincts, thus becoming mute after adapting to this new behavior🤔

I think its even darker: what if he could actually feel being experimented on, and he was screaming the whole time, and he lost his voice for years, but then it came back, but due to losing his voice for more than a year, he forgot his original voice. He only has his toy voice: a raspy and terrifying voice. He doesn’t talk just so you won’t be able to hear him. 😱

Catnap was the most aggressive toy to the staff. The reason he stopped appearing in the Smiling Critters cartoon, was due to his toy counterparts poppy gas having side effects on children who bought them. The employees were scared due to this, so for the majority of the time, he was kept in a cage. The developers confirmed that.

8:16 due to the fact that huggy has been in playtime co for so long anyone could convince him that there is a solution to all this stress & pain but due to that very fact it's super easy to manipulate him

Maybe huggy wuggys voice box was taken by the prototype you know the prototype hss multiple voices?

this is what i think: kissy is an infant, thus, cant speak, huggy's was removed so not to expose the true intentions of Playtime Co after his temporary escape, Catnap has his voice, but doesnt talk too much, only when its really necessary, and the only reason his wasnt removed, is because despite knowing that he worships the prototype, due to catnap never really making a move (because of the HOJ plan, but the employees didnt know about it) they thought he could keep his voice since catnap didnt really try to escape or reveal the true intentions of playtime co. until the HOJ.

I personally think that huggy can talk but doesnt choose to like if there were scientist that yelled at him and he talked back he would be beaten or something so he kinda stopped talking but he might still initiate small conversations with a select group of people

Fun fact : catnap got only 5 minutes and 15 seconds of screentime in 2 hours game of poppy playtime chapter 3 this shows hiw less screentime catnap got

2:20 well if you go all the way back to chapter one you see in huggys chase scene in the vents it says on the walls things like “STOP” “TURN BACK” or “IM SORRY I HUNGER” and I assume sense Huggy is the only toy we see in chapter one that would be tall enough to write those messages and also I highly doubt that he was just an infant when experimented on because if you think about it in the game station kids think they are just playing games but they are really in secret being tested on by the people in the Bigger Body’s project and the orphan in Huggy wuggy would have had to go through said games and complete them to make a good guard to watch over the children so if an infant played those games i HIGHLY doubt that they would even be able to understand any of it. Am i wrong?

The reason why huggy cant talk is probably because of his intelligence, he knows that talking distracts him so for example in irl when your doing something important and talk at the same time you can not focus a little or more like mommy long legs she was yapping quite a bit and got off track a lil she is super intelligent and somehow she still died if she wasn't focused on saying death threats at the player, mommy would still be alive so huggy does this showing that he is more intelligence than all the toys in the factory (except 1006) this is my trash theory so yeah.

I belive that some experiments can talk while other cant because some simply werent designed anatomically for talking, like bron/thomas, boxy boo and huggy wuggy(whos mouthes are just flesh and teeth, they even have tongues )

*cardboard voices are not necessarely canonic, like with DogDay
