I've had the Olympus Pen F in my possession for a couple of months now. So far I've shot two rolls of Cinestill 400D with it and I love the results. In this video, I share my review and thoughts on this half-frame camera and photo examples of the diptych images I shot with this fun 35mm half-frame camera.

Enjoy, don't forget to subscribe.

♡,
Archie

What do you think of half frame cameras? Have you shot with one?📸

Hi Archie.

I have a big smile on my face watching your video of the Pen F because it was the first camera I ever owned (many, many, moons ago).

When I was at school I used to wash people's cars on the weekend for extra money. One of my customers was a wedding photographer. I told him I did photography class at school so we got along very well. When I moved house he gave me the Pen F, a Weston IV light meter, and four rolls of Tri X. I loved juxtoposing with the diptych.

Nowadays, I shoot on my phone. I just wonder around or do a few table top set ups, put them on Flickr, and have just as much fun as the early days.

Have a wonderful time and great adventures with your new/old camera. Enjoy the rest of your weekend from a sunny London.

I got two bodies now! The F and FT! I just love the idea of having double the shots. It feels like having a digital camera with the amount of shots you have. Takes awhile to finish a roll. I also picked up Fujica half for 26 usd at a thrift shop. I haven't shot film in like almost three years and was seriously thinking of selling all my film cameras because film to me was dead. I think half frame really kept the love alive.

Wonderful review! I have been looking to pick up a pen f

but then I went down a rabbit hole of researching all the different types of half frame cameras. Now I have a spreadsheet of all 173 half frame cameras ever made and all their specs lol

I would suggest a cheap lens cap when you take it out an original with the Gothic 'F' is expensive, if you have any Zuiko manual lenses with an adaptor you can use them on the Pen F, could you remember what you had taken by the time you had finished the film

Stunning photos! Isn’t it crazy how long it can take to get through all 72 exposures!

My first half frame camera was a Yashica Samurai Z. I now have an Olympus PEN S, PEN EE2, PEN F medical, PEN FT and Yashica Sequelle. Awaiting delivery of a Canon Dial35.

I have the same exact one, a gift from my husband, hoping it would help me build a hobby and help with my depression and anxiety. I'd like to start and take good pictures with it soon. What are the settings I can use for a sunny day or a cloudy day? Thank you!

Are those light leaks natural? If so how do your achieve them? Or do they just happen

I'd love to run a half frame camera but I'm a bit dissuaded by the fact that most use a selenium light meter for the auto exposure and they can cause problems. Also love the SRT101.

Do you find that it is restrictive in the way you shoot scenery or large objects at a distance ?
