Description:

In this video we'll have a look on one of Europe's biggest problems, the rise of sea levels, which can affect million of people especialy in Germany, France, Belgium and The Netherlands.
The German and Dutch scientists has have proposed a megaproject that would save Europe from this inevitable event.
Two Dams that would practicly enclose the North Sea and The Baltic Sea stretching from Norway to Scotland and From France to England.
But we'll talk more about this in the video, so make sure you don't miss it.
Feel free to write your opinion about this in the commnets.
Hope you'll enjoy the video!

Transcript:

Germany and The Netherlands have proposed the world’s biggest megaproject that would protect Europe from the rising sea levels. These two massive dams linking Norway with Scotland and England with France, would have a total length of 637 kilometers and would completely enclose the north sea.
The scientists believe that the sea levels will increase between 84 centimeters and 2 meters until 2100. This would mean that a lot of costal areas from Germany, Denmark and United Kingdom would be affected, but the most affected country would be The Netherlands, which already have a third of its territory located below sea level.
The North European Enclosure Dam would practically disconnect the Baltic Sea and the North Sea from the Atlantic ocean. The biggest challenge in realizing this megaproject would not be the length or the money needed, but the part of the dam crossing the Norwegian Trench, which have depths of 321 meters. So, do you think it’s possible?

Funfact: The dutch people are the average tallest people. That's what they're going to need if the dam isn't built!

The Germans and Dutch always going above and beyond. Meanwhile, over in Spain we are just coming out of a siesta.

As a Dutchie, it would be cool to be able to drive across that dam. From Netherlands to Norway to the UK and then circling back to France, sounds like an amazing roadtrip.

Netherlands 🇳🇱: Ok, pretty much Western Europe, especially me would have a ton of coastlines be sinked by rising sea levels.
Germany 🇩🇪: Of course, we need a sort of wall to block the sea level.
Asking Europians:
Germany 🇩🇪: Hey guys, we need some countries here in Western Europe for reference for our project of protecting Europe from rising sea levels.
United Kingdom 🇬🇧: Sure! Block the North Sea and the English Channel.
Norway 🇳🇴: Connect one from me to United Kingdom!
France 🇫🇷: And United Kingdom to me to block the northern passages.
Ireland 🇮🇪: Meanwhile, I have mountains as a barrier.
Portugal 🇵🇹: Me too.
Spain 🇪🇸: So as me, having mountains all around me.
Netherlands 🇳🇱: And if we don't make this before rising sea level, coastlines from United Kingdom, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Norway, and especially me would become uncontrollable.
Denmark 🇩🇰: Of course! It will ruin my work.
Belgium 🇧🇪: So as me.
Norway 🇳🇴: One thing though. You still have to build the wall about 321m at the Norwegian Trench.
Germany 🇩🇪: I can we need to think more though...
THE END :D

This project is more utopic as the atlantropa project. (Back in 20th century, a german had a plan to build dams at Suez channel and at the Strait of Gibraltar to lower the sealevel of the mediterranean sea)

So, we are choosing to try to isolate two seas from the rest of them, with a catastrophic impact on the sealife and marine streams I presume, rather than changing our economic system?

I don’t think this is a good idea as it will block trade, forcing countries to trade through land, adding to costs with all those borders to cross.

Can it be done? If the Dutch are involved, the answer is 'yes'.

Unless they can somehow make energy out of those dams, that's just the stupidest project I've seen in a while

Ah yes, let's completely ignore the environmental and meteorological impact such a project would have.

They would sooner build a multibillion dollar megaproject that closes the entire North Sea than lessen pollution 💀💀💀

This is not a proposal, just some weird warning/thoughtplay.

Estimated buildtime for this is 50-100 years.
