Actually the trial of Eichmann took place some time after the Nuremberg Trials after the Israeli special forces forcefully extradited Eichmann back to Israel from where he was hiding. In fact their decision to try him in Israel as opposed to an international court was a huge controversy at the time.

Excellent movie, great acting by Barabara Sukowa! Makes you think and open your eyes.

The book to read is "The House on Garibaldi Street", which describes in detail how the Mossad captured Eichmann in 1960.

Looks fantastic! A compelling portrait of a character set in front of an under-filmed and fascinating period of world history: the Nuremburg trials. I definitely want to see this.

The trial of Eichmann was not part of the Nuremburg Trials. It is well worth reading Eichmann in Jerusalem before seeing this film.

saw it yesterday on ARD (german TV). Its highly recommendable! But i'd recommend the original english version where its easier to tell german and english spoken dialoge apart.

i cannot find anything that will even detect this as anything but english online.  it is obviously not even close to english.  so it's pretty pathetic with the money google is making while people see something so stupid attached to their name.

I'm sorry. This role is even too much for Barbara Sukowa. Arendt had such a specific way of talking, of moving, of being present, you simply can't play that, unless you are. What a pity.
