I loved the Count of Monte Cristo! It's what gave me confidence to read other big classics.

im more of a physical book person I am 42 years old and most people in my generation where I am of what I know all go for ebooks and audiobooks but for me those I like but, if my eye health deteriates that bad with age if it does then ebooks and audiobooks are good but for now physical books are better for me, I mean mysical books have been around since manking set the first pen on paper or whatever they used to write stories even if its by drawing so for me plent enought time I use what I can. Could I read Ken Folletts a dangerouse fortune before his Pillars of earth book? maybe it will give me a better continuation of the story before I start it?

Pillars of the Earth is an interesting one. At the time I read it, it started to feel like a drudge. And yet more often than most books I’ve read in the last few years, I think about the lives of people in those circumstances. Not the characters themselves, who I had a hard time getting into. But the historical aspect really stuck with me.

I will have to check out the 5 books listed. As far as Gone With The Wind I will not be reading it, I don’t really need to hear the side of the argument of why the KKK was formed, I think it’s been quite well known it was due to the fact that they wanted to keep Black/Hispanic people enslaved and continue to torture and kill them. Just like I couldn’t read a book about glamorizing the actions of the conquistadors who raped and killed the natives or books who may have glamorized the nazis.
