The Suzuki WagonR achieves two stars for adult occupant protection

The WagonR achieved two stars for adult occupant protection and two stars for child occupant protection. The WagonR offers only a driver frontal airbag as standard. Its structure was rated as unstable. Its footwell area was rated as unstable and pedal displacement showed some risk to the lower legs of the driver. Head protection for adult occupants was good. Neck protection for driver was good and adequate for passenger. Chest protection was weak for both front passengers leading to limitations in the SBR points achieved by this model. Child occupant protection showed poor results mainly for the 3 year old dummy as its Child Restraint System (CRS) broke during the impact and the head impacted the front seat. Chest protection for the 18month old dummy was low despite being installed rearward facing.

The WagonR offers standard two SBR in the front seats but its points were not considered for the final rating as the front passenger chest received weak protection. It is surprising that this car is not offering 3 point belts for all occupants.

People are talking trash about this car and not realising that the variant tested had just one airbag so getting more than 2 stars is nearly impossible. If GNCAP had tested the one with 2 airbags, it would have definitely scored at least 3 stars, which is not a terrible score. The WagonR is not as unsafe as people think. In this case, people are just defaming Maruti Suzuki for no valid reason.

Stop using MARUTI SUZUKI CARS, Its useless and there’s no scope of safety in the car..
There are lots of other cars in the market which are way more better than MARUTI SUZUKI CARS and are also of similar prices.
MARUTI SUZUKI’S maintenance is “LESS” that is acceptable but that has a big reason, body parts are of cheap quality....

It gives more average because of light body.

hyundai and ms is selling plastic toys in india with full of features only, this was expected. In other countries there cars are really good but for the indian mrkt there are charging same amount of money with less safety. Better to go with honda, ford, skoda, tata, vw which don't have double standards can provide safe cars
